The objective of this initiative will be to support, foster and reward creation, innovation and entrepreneurship throughout IP. To this end, an innovation competition will be organised, recognising the finest projects or ideas protected by IP rights and through the conferment of an award.

Annual stakeholder's workshop

The objective of this activity is to engage with stakeholders and promote the results of the project annually and on a rotating basis by highlighting the benefits it will bring to the respective national IP systems of Moldova and Ukraine. In fact, it will improve the awareness among IPR users, enforcement practitioners and national media of the importance and value of IP, as well as the negative effects and risks related to counterfeiting and piracy.

Implementation of Image Search to TMview and DesignView in AGEPI

Taking into consideration that the data from trade mark and design right holders at AGEPI are already integrated into the EUIPN tools TMview and DesignView, this activity will aim at implementing the image search function into TMView and DesignView for AGEPI. This AI integration is set to transform how trade marks are searched for and compared, leveraging advanced image recognition technologies.

Support the development of a teaching and training centre - cooperation Sakpatenti/EUIPO Academy

This activity aims to support all IP georgian stakeholders to stay up to date with their IP knowledge in a constantly evolving legal environment. Taking into account Sakpatenti’s interest in becoming a central platform for learning IP activities, this technical cooperation will target specific activities and courses of interest for Sakpatenti, by identifying courses targeting IP attorneys, SMEs and enforcement authorities’ needs.

Study visits: strengthen network with EU Customs

This activity will organise a study visit in tentatively 2 Member States, with EU Customs for an ‘on the job’ exchange of best practices to learn working procedures at different EU strategic points; airports, ports and relevant offices, based on case incidents and specific risk analysis.

Enhanced cooperation between EUIPO's Observatory and UANIPIO IPRs infringement monitoring centre

This activity proposes a cooperation between the EUIPO and the UANIPIO to share best practices and knowledge on the EUIPO Observatory and its role managing the network with EU enforcement authorities. This cooperation would shed light on law enforcement, judicial and customs authorities’ cooperation in order to increase the effectiveness of the fight against infringements of IP rights in Ukraine.

International IP Enforcement Summit

The IP enforcement summit is organised every 2 years brings together key European and international decision-makers, law enforcement authorities, multinational companies, SMEs, consumer representatives, and other relevant players to discuss ways to improve protection and enforcement of IP rights in the EU and around the globe.

This event is an opportunity for Moldovan and Ukrainian authorities to strengthen inter-institutional cooperation and intensify efforts to ensure a conducive environment for innovation and the enforcement of IPRs.

National Action Plan (or Roadmap) for IP enforcement in AGEPI

This activity supports the State Agency on Intellectual Property of Moldova (AGEPI) in developing a national roadmap for Intellectual Property (IP) rights enforcement. Cooperation between AGEPI and relevant European enforcement stakeholders is contemplated to share best practices and knowledge to build a national action plan and based on the European Commission recommendation that Moldova should focus in particular on developing a policy on the fight against counterfeiting and piracy.

Support to legislative alignment with EU acquis in Moldova: legal comparative analysis and drafting law amendments/regulations on copyrights and related rights

In line with the commitments of the DCFTA and the EU accession process, the purpose of this activity is to ensure follow-up on Moldova’s alignment process with EU legislation on copyrights and related rights. This analysis will assess the level of alignment between European and Moldovan law and identify discrepancies between the two systems.
