EUIPO Supports Ukraine in Preparing for EU IP Law Compliance

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) supports Ukraine's accession negotiations by assisting Ukrainian authorities prepare for the screening on the compliance of Ukrainian legislation with Chapter 7 of the EU acquis on Intellectual Property (IP) Law. Joining the efforts of the Ukrainian authorities, the EUIPO provided expertise during a mock session on 25-26 September 2024, which was a simulation of the bilateral meeting between Ukrainian negotiators and the European Commission (EC) scheduled for December this year.

Support to ANIEE in Raising Awareness on IP Rights Infringements

It includes supporting the ASEAN Network of IPR Enforcement Experts (ANIEE) in developing and launching a new communication campaign to raise public awareness about IP rights infringements, with a strategic framework for ASEAN in 2024-2025.

Social Media Campaign on the Importance of IP Rights

This activity will implement a social media campaign to emphasise the crucial role of IP rights in ASEAN’s economic development. The campaign will aim to raise awareness about the risks of IP infringements for businesses, especially micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises, as well as consumers and the public. It will also highlight the benefits of IP protection to encourage more IP registrations.
