CarIPI’s Annual Work Plan Endorsed at the First Sub-PSC meeting of the Second Phase of the Project

The Sub-Project Steering Committee (Sub-PSC) of the CarIPI project held its inaugural meeting on 25 September 2025. High-level representatives from the Intellectual Property Offices of CARIFORUM countries, the European Commission, and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) met virtually to strengthen their collaboration in the field of intellectual property (IP) for the coming years.

During the meeting, participants discussed and endorsed the First Annual Work Plan (AWP1), set to run for six months and is divided in four work packages.

The EUIPO supports AGEPI’s 33rd anniversary with a Regional Conference on IP and Creative Industries

From 8-9 September 2025, the State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova (AGEPI) marked its 33rd anniversary by hosting a Regional Conference on Intellectual Property and Creative Industries in Chișinău. The event was organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and in the context of the EU-funded project Strengthening Intellectual Property Rights in Moldova and Ukraine (EU4IP).

Uruguayan winner of Ingenias LATAM 2025 invented tool to facilitate hand crocheting

Graphic design technician María Inés Costa Saravia was announced as the Uruguayan winner of the Ingenias LATAM 2025 award for her (inter)nationally protected invention that facilitates hand crocheting. The award is an initiative of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), within the framework of the EU-funded project AL-INVEST Verde IPR. Its objective is to highlight and promote female talent in the field of intellectual property (IP) and innovation in Latin America.

Ad hoc support to Moldova for the 9th edition of the Youth Intellectual Property Contest

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), as part of the EU-funded EU4IP project, supported the organisation of the 9th edition of the Youth Intellectual Property Contest in the Republic of Moldova. The initiative was led by the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova, the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks of Romania and the Romanian Copyright Office, on the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day 2025.

Ad hoc support to Ukraine in accessing the Pan European Seal Mundus Programme

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with three leading Ukrainian universities, officially integrating them into the Pan-European Seal (PES) programme. This joint milestone was possible thanks to support from the Ukrainian National Office for Intellectual Property and Innovations (UANIPIO), which actively promotes international opportunities for Ukrainian students and professionals, ensuring that future intellectual property (IP) experts benefit from EU and global best practices and advanced training.

Andean GI Mentorships Conclude with Tangible Results and Regional Collaboration

Paraguayan winner of the Ingenias LATAM 2025 award invented innovative molecules for the treatment of Chagas disease and leishmaniasis

Dr Gladys Antonieta Rojas de Arias, biologist and inventor of compounds (synthetic molecules) derived from 2,5-dihydroxybenzyl, was announced as the Paraguayan winner of the Ingenias LATAM 2025 award for her nationally protected invention for the treatment of Chagas disease and leishmaniasis. The award is an initiative of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), in the framework of the EU-funded AL-INVEST Verde DPI project.
