Publication of IP Guide for Brazilian exporters

The National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) of Brazil and EUIPO (through the AL-INVEST Verde IPR project) have released the ‘Intellectual Property Guide for Exporters – European Union (EU)’ to support Brazilian exporters with intellectual property (IP) protection in the EU. The Guide is part of INPI Brazil’s ‘IP Guides for Exporters’ series and was prepared by INPI with the technical collaboration of experts of the EU-funded project AL-INVEST Verde IPR implemented by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).

Paraguay advances towards a modernised Designs Law

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) has successfully completed the provision of technical assistance to Paraguay’s National Directorate of Intellectual Property (DINAPI) through the EU-funded AL-INVEST Verde IPR project. Implemented between April and November 2025, the activity consisted in the elaboration of a comprehensive study on the modernization of the Paraguayan Designs Law No. 868/81.

Compendium of Trade Mark Case Law in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), through the EU-funded project AL-INVEST Verde IPR, published the ‘Compendium of Trade Mark Case Law in the MERCOSUR countries and Chile’. It provides an important reference resource to strengthen the consistent application and enforcement of intellectual property (IP) rights in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.

The EUIPO launches the Copyright Knowledge Centre at a high-level conference

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), in cooperation with the European Commission, hosted a two-day high-level conference on copyright from 20-21 November 2025 at its headquarters in Alicante, Spain. The event brought together EU institutions, policymakers, national intellectual property (IP) offices, copyright experts and representatives from the cultural and creative sectors to celebrate copyright in the EU and reflect on the latest policy challenges in the field.

Digitalisation and efficiency

A key objective of CarIPI II is the full integration of CARIFORUM IP office data into TMview. This project activity will support more efficient workflows, improved data consistency and better service delivery for users across the region. In this project phase, CarIPI will also start working on the integration of CARIFORUM IP office industrial designs data into DesignClass, the global search and classification tool for industrial design rights.
