Meeting about mentorship programme in Paraguay

AL-INVEST Verde IPR, in collaboration with the National Directorate of Intellectual Property of Paraguay (DINAPI), is organising a meeting to discuss the implementation of the first edition of the mentorship programme of AL-INVEST Verde IPR, AL-INVmentor in Paraguay.

AL-INVmentor Paraguay is one of the mentorships of the first edition of the mentorship programme that focuses on the MERCOSUR countries. AL-INVmentor Paraguay will support select groups of local agri-food producers in the effective use of intellectual property instruments, mainly geographical indications (GIs), through specialised mentoring.

The event is aimed at representatives of national authorities, such as ministries and secretariats concerning tourism, as well as of producers of origin-linked products in Paraguay. Speakers at the event will include the National Director of DINAPI, the project leader of AL-INVEST Verde IPR, as well as a representative of the Paraguayan Vice-Ministry representing small agricultural producers.

The keynote lecture is titled ‘The Role of Geographical Indications and Success Stories – Colombian Coffee’ and will be given by Mr Luis Fernando Samper, expert of AL-INVEST Verde IPR and international consultant in GIs and sustainability matters.
