EUIPO and ASIPI organised virtual seminar on green brands and sustainability to strengthen market ties between the European Union and Latin America

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), in the context of the EU-funded project AL-INVEST Verde IPR, in collaboration with the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI) organized the virtual seminar, "Green Brands and Sustainability: Positioning Strategies in Latin America and the European Union (EU)” on 29 April. The event aimed at business owners and representatives from the sustainable products sector provided invaluable insights for businesses looking to enhance their sustainability credentials and expand into international markets.

Pimentón del Valle Calchaquí – the third EUIPO-supported origin-linked product in MERCOSUR to gain GI recognition in Argentina

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) acknowledges the significant achievement of the producers of Pimentón del Valle Calchaquí in Argentina, participants in the mentorship programme on geographical indications (GIs) of the AL-INVEST Verde IPR project, in obtaining a GI. This origin-linked product was granted the status of denomination of origin on 15 April 2025, officially recognising the product’s unique qualities, which result from cultivation in the favorable climatic conditions of Salta’s high-altitude valleys.

Moldova and Ukraine participate at EUIPO Liaison Meetings

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) convened intellectual property (IP) stakeholders across Europe for the 24th Liaison Meeting on Cooperation on 31 March 2025, and also hosted the 33rd Liaison Meeting on Trade Marks on 1 April and the 25th Liaison Meeting on Designs on 2 April 2025, demonstrating the EUIPO's commitment to regional cooperation.
