Assist Cambodia and Lao PDR in the integration of TMclass
In December 2019, IT officials from Cambodia and Lao PDR together with the EUIPO’s IT experts discussed the future integrations of both counties to TMclass (one of the IT tools developed by the European Union Intellectual Property Network (EUIPN) and the EU IP offices). In 2021, the ARISE+ IPR programme continued to provide technical assistance to support the integration of Cambodia and Lao PDR into the TMclass global database, which improved consistency in the classification of goods and services and the efficiency of trade mark examination.
The EUIPO established the EUIPN, initially the European Trade Mark and Design Network (ETMDN), to serve as a platform for exchanging common practices, services and tools to improve the quality and transparency of the IP offices’ services. The EUIPN and the EU IP offices had jointly developed IT tools, namely TMview, DesignView, DesignClass and TMclass. Now, the tools can be extended to the ASEAN IP offices and other non-EU IP offices.
