Judges and prosecutors’ seminar on IP infringements and Launch of the AL-INVEST Verde IPR Protection Network

The seminar provides the opportunity to continue building a network among key intellectual property (IP) enforcement stakeholders (including not only judges and public prosecutors but customs authorities as well). With the objective to reinforce specific knowledge on IP rights in the courts of MERCOSUR and partner countries and to discuss the nature and impact of IPR rights infringements.

The activity aims to exchange best practices on general cross-border IP rights enforcement issues, such as:

  • the availability of interim injunctions;
  • evidence requirements;
  • amount of damages;
  • (harmonisation of the) predictability of decisions;
  • enforceability of decisions;
  • online infringements.

The activity is also an opportunity to continue the work of the AL-INVEST Verde IPR Protection Network in gathering relevant IP case-law in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.

Partners: DINAPI (Paraguay IP office) and the Supreme Court of Paraguay; judiciary authorities from Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay
