Paraguay joins TMclass

As of 08 May 2023, the National Directorate of Intellectual Property of the Republic of Paraguay (DINAPI) will use and accept the terms from the alphabetical list of Nice in Spanish in TMclass.

The new incorporation of DINAPI in TMclass brings the total number of participating national and regional IP offices, including ARIPO, OAPI, WIPO and the EUIPO, to 95.

Intellectual Property Rights in Georgia Strengthened by EU support

The EU-Georgia Intellectual Property Project (EUGIPP) will come to an end in June 2023. On that occasion, a closure event took place in Tbilisi on 4 May 2023, in view to discuss achievements, assess results, and focus on future opportunities for cooperation.

This project, implemented by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), has been working closely with Sakpatenti (the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia) and other stakeholders on diverse lines of action to achieve the following results:

The Use of Artificial Intelligence in IP offices - Knowledge Exchange between IP offices of MERCOSUR, Chile and the European Union on New Technologies and Intellectual Property

On 4 May 2023, the AL-INVEST Verde IPR online event ‘Case studies on the use of Artificial Intelligence in Intellectual Property offices’ was held in the IP offices of MERCOSUR, Chile and the EUIPO.

This was the first event organised under the ‘Knowledge Exchange between IP Offices of MERCOSUR, Chile and European Union on New Technologies and Intellectual Property’ initiative. Two more events will be held this year.
