Legal assistance and guidance on the industrial design legislation for Saint Kitts and Nevis

On 18 April 2023, the CARIFORUM Intellectual Property Rights and Innovation (CarIPI) team hosted an online meeting with the examiners and legal drafters of the Intellectual Property Office of St. Kitts and Nevis (IPOSKN) to discuss the content of the draft Bill on Designs.

At present, the country does not have industrial design legislation. St. Kitts and Nevis has expressed interest in receiving legal assistance from the project in this regard, resuming the work started in previous years of CarIPI.

Manual on Types of Marks and Distinctiveness of Trade Marks in Absolute Grounds in (selected) CARIFORUM IP Offices

On 17 April 2023, the CARIFORUM Intellectual Property and Innovation Project (CarIPI) published a manual on Types of Marks and Distinctiveness of Trade Marks as a result of the joint efforts of the Intellectual Property Offices and Registries of Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
