Specialised training for IP offices on design examination – novelty and individual character
On 21 March 2023, CarIPI organised an online training on ‘Design examination procedures: concepts of novelty and individual character’. The course was intended for IP examiners from the CARIFORUM IP offices.
As CARIFORUM countries often face capacity and resource constraints when providing services to meet the changing needs of the private sector, continued training of administrators of the IP system is essential for the effectiveness of IP systems at the national, regional and international levels.
During the training session, representatives from the Jamaica Intellectual Property Office and the Cuban Industrial Property Office presented their experience in the region.
This course takes place under Activity 7 of CarIPI’s current annual work plan: Specialised Training for IPO Examiners and other IP stakeholders.
