ARISE+ IPR joins the DIP Mini Marathon in Thailand to raise awareness against piracy

On 1 March 2020, the EU-funded project ARISE+ IPR supported the Department of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Commerce, Thailand, in the organisation of the ‘DIP Mini Marathon 2020: Stop Piracy’ at the premises of the Ministry of Commerce in Nonthaburi, Thailand.

The second edition of the DIP Mini Marathon aimed to raise awareness among the participants and the general audience about piracy, inform them about the harm of buying, selling and using infringing products, and emphasise the role of intellectual property rights in protecting consumers, businesses, and the economy.

ARISE+ IPR also had a booth at the venue to provide the participants with key information concerning intellectual property rights and the project’s mission in Thailand and the ASEAN region. Promotional material, such as project-branded reusable water bottles and canvas tote bags, was distributed during the event. More than 150 participants visited the ARISE+ IPR booth.

‘The second edition of the DIP Mini Marathon was a great opportunity to join a lot of colleagues in the IP world. It was great to see entire families attending the event and having fun,’ said Carolina Pitarch, ARISE+ IPR Deputy Project Leader, ‘The European Union, through the ARISE+ IPR project, is keen to participate in such events to promote and create awareness about intellectual property rights.’
