ARISE+ IPR joins the 4th ASEAN-EU Cooperation and Scholarships Day
On 12 and 13 August 2021, the EU Delegation to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) organised the 4th ASEAN-EU Cooperation and Scholarships Day. The online expo, which took place on a virtual event platform, aimed to encourage students and young professionals from all ASEAN member states to learn about the European Union’s initiatives in various areas and engage in networking opportunities with EU-funded projects and their peers in ASEAN. ARISE+ IPR, alongside other EU-funded cooperation projects, was invited to participate as an exhibitor.
On this occasion, ARISE+ IPR had a virtual booth set up in the expo section and welcomed visitors throughout the 2-day event. It is advantageous for students in ASEAN to be aware of intellectual property (IP) rights and their benefits, so basic information regarding the project, IP in general and the importance of IP knowledge to young people were included in the booth. It is also essential for young people to acknowledge that having their IP rights protected will allow them to build their success upon their IP’s uniqueness and outperform their competitors in the incredibly dynamic digital market. The booth received a lot of attention and many visitors interacted with ARISE+ IPR experts by asking IP-related questions of their choice through the chat box.
ARISE+ IPR experts, Mr Bakhtiar Bandial and Ms Dung Le, also participated in two 30-minute panel discussions to explain the importance of IP: ‘Go Digital: How business can thrive during & post-COVID-19’ and ‘Empowering ASEAN Small Producers’. The sharing sessions provided the participants with knowledge and information about IP rights protection on a national, regional and international level, with the bottom line that IP protection can enhance their potential and bring them economic benefits in the future.
