Roundtable discussions for ASEAN IP offices on the findings of the ‘Impact Study on ASEAN GI registration in the ASEAN region’

Following the ‘Impact Study on ASEAN GI registration in the ASEAN region’, which was conducted in 2020, ARISE+ IPR organised roundtable discussions for ASEAN IP offices on the findings of the study and a sharing session on GI examination targeting GI officials from the ASEAN IP offices.

The roundtable discussions were organised on 20 and 21 September 2021. The events serve as a platform for discussion on the key findings of the impact study and the similarities and differences between the legal GI frameworks in each ASEAN Member State, among other topics.

The sharing session took on 22 September 2021, immediately after the roundtable discussions. It  allowed the participants to learn about the European Union’s practices on GI application, registration, and examination from representatives of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI).
