Advances in AI for Patent Examination Highlighted at AL-INVEST Verde IPR Virtual Meeting
Yesterday, an important virtual meeting was held, which was jointly organised by the EUIPO and the EPO. The meeting focused on how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be used in patent examination. EPO expert Alexander Klenner-Bajaja provided valuable insights as to how AI can revolutionise this field.
The session also allowed experts from Intellectual Property Offices from countries such as Chile, Colombia, and Mexico to discuss how technology is currently being used at the EPO and the EUIPO.
We thank all the participants from INPI Brazil, INPI Argentina, INAPI Chile, DINAPI Paraguay, IMPI Mexico, and DNPI Uruguay for their contribution and for enriching the dialogue around Intellectual Property (IP) and new technologies.
The EUIPO remains committed to using innovative technologies to improve efficiency and quality in the field of IP. The application of AI to examination could be a sign of exciting times ahead.
At AL-INVEST Verde IPR, we remain focused on strengthening IP institutions in Latin America through cooperation and technological innovation.
