The EUIPO Supports Businesses and Entrepreneurs in Cambodia in the Strategic Use of IP Rights

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), through the EU-ASEAN Sustainability Connectivity Package – Intellectual Property Rights (SCOPE IPR), organised the seminar ‘Trade marks and Industrial Designs: Strategies for Businesses and SMEs in the Global Marketplace’, on 30 July 2026 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Held in collaboration with the Department of Intellectual Property of Cambodia, the event provided practical guidance to businesses, particularly MSMEs, women entrepreneurs and youth innovators, on how to protect, manage and commercialise intellectual property assets.

Participants explored strategies for using trade marks and industrial designs to strengthen competitiveness, support expansion into ASEAN and EU markets, and increase the value of products and services.

The seminar formed part of EUIPO’s ongoing cooperation with ASEAN to promote more inclusive participation in the IP system and to support sustainable and competitive business growth across Southeast Asia.

Through SCOPE IPR, the EUIPO continues to work with ASEAN partners to help businesses and innovators make greater use of intellectual property.
