The EUIPO Supports Indonesian MSMEs in Strengthening the Business Use of Intellectual Property
Helping businesses use intellectual property as a strategic asset was the focus of two seminars organised by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) through the EU-funded SCOPE IPR project in Jakarta on 10–11 August 2026.
The seminars, "Trade Marks and Industrial Designs: Strategies for Businesses and SMEs in the Global Marketplace" and "Promoting Inclusivity Through Trade Marks and Industrial Designs", were implemented in collaboration with the Directorate General of Intellectual Property of Indonesia and brought together businesses from different sectors to explore how trade marks and industrial designs can strengthen business strategy and growth.
Participants discussed the practical application of intellectual property, including identifying IP assets, developing stronger branding strategies, and improving competitiveness in both domestic and international markets.
The sessions formed part of SCOPE IPR's broader objective to strengthen the capacity of ASEAN businesses to engage with intellectual property in a more strategic and commercially meaningful way. Through SCOPE IPR, the EUIPO continues to support ASEAN partners in helping MSMEs integrate intellectual property into their long-term business development strategies.
