The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) announces the launch of three new mentorships in Latin-America in the context of the AL-INVmentor programme of the AL-INVEST Verde IPR project. The initiative aims at fostering the strategic use of intellectual property rights (IPRs) in Latin-America, with a special focus on geographical indications (GIs) and trademarks, to reinforce the role of IPRs in driving innovation, competitiveness, and sustainability.

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) has developed competency certifications and training courses for professionals in Technology Transfer (TT) and intellectual property (IP) in Uruguay to boost the country's technological development and innovation. The initiative was carried out in the context of the EU-funded project AL-INVEST Verde IPR.

The event organised with the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI) aims to discuss EU regulations on the use of green trade marks and the limitations related to greenwashing. As well as to explore the registration process and criteria for EU collective and certification marks, especially in the context of environmental sustainability.
