Through regional partnerships, AL-INVEST Verde IPR helps raise awareness on the value that IPR has in creating sustainable growth and jobs in the MERCOSUR region.
The main partners of the action are the IP Offices of Latin American countries, in particular the MERCOSUR countries:
Intellectual property is an essential incentive for creativity and innovation. This includes green innovation, which makes it essential to promote biodiversity and sustainable food policy, fight pollution and enhance the circular economy. Therefore, IP plays a critical role in promoting the objectives of the European Green Deal (EGD).
In June 2022, a delegation of the EUIPO composed of the Head of the International Cooperation Service, Ignacio de Medrano, and the Action Lead of AL-INVEST Verde IPR concluded several fact-finding missions to Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay.
