Trade Marks and Industrial Designs: Strengthening ASEAN Businesses for the Global Marketplace

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), through the SCOPE IPR project, organised a seminar on Trade Marks and Industrial Designs: Strategies for Businesses and SMEs in the Global Marketplace in Bangkok, Thailand, on 3 August 2026 in collaboration with Thailand's Department of Intellectual Property (DIP).

The event focused on strengthening awareness of trade marks and industrial designs for business development and inclusive participation in the intellectual property system across ASEAN.

The first seminar focused on helping businesses, MSMEs and innovators understand how trade marks and industrial designs can strengthen branding and competitiveness in ASEAN and international markets.

Throughout the programme, attendees exchanged views on challenges in accessing IP systems and discussed ways to make IP knowledge more practical and accessible for emerging entrepreneurs and innovators across ASEAN.

Through SCOPE IPR, the EUIPO continues to work with ASEAN partners to support a more inclusive and accessible intellectual property ecosystem across Southeast Asia.
