Solidarity with Thailand and Indonesia, and extension of deadlines following devastating floods

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) expresses its condolences and solidarity with the people of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Republic of Indonesia in the aftermath of torrential rains and severe flooding, which have caused extensive loss of life, widespread destruction of villages and infrastructure, and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people.

In recognition of the serious disruption caused, the EUIPO has adopted Decision No EX-25-17, extending all procedural deadlines for parties having their residence or registered office in Thailand and Indonesia, where proceedings before the Office fall within the affected period.

“Our thoughts are with all those who have lost loved ones and whose lives have been deeply affected by the devastating impact of the floods. We stand in solidarity with the people of Thailand and Indonesia during this time of recovery and rebuilding,” said João Negrão, Executive Director of the EUIPO.
