On 31 May 2022, CarIPI held the ‘GI as ingredient’ webinar, designed mainly for producers of products protected by geographical indications (GIs). The purpose of the webinar was to improve their capabilities and explain how a GI-protected product can be used as an ingredient under certain conditions, and how those conditions might be created and sustained.
On 4-5 May 2022, the EUGIPP and Sakpatenti will organise a training course on IP pre-diagnostic (IP scan) services for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The purpose is to train Sakpatenti officials on the needs of SMEs who wish to protect their IP rights and, more specifically, how to handle requests from companies and assess their needs.
On 19-20 May, CARIFORUM Intellectual Property Rights and Innovation, together with the CPVO and UPOV, organised an in-person seminar on Regional Cooperation in PVR in the Dominican Republic. There was also a study visit to some breeders’ companies that benefit from the PVR system. The event targeted decision makers from agricultural ministries, IP offices and/or EPA coordinators.
On 27 April 2022, the National Intellectual Property Center – Sakpatenti will be celebrating the World Intellectual Property Day with an event in Tbilisi where young people will be at centre stage as the 2022 edition focuses on IP and youth innovating for a better future.
