AfrIPI co-hosted its first on-site event in Algeria on 28 - 29 November 2022, to support North African countries in the fight against counterfeiting, to promote intellectual property rights (IPRs) and to discuss their impact on the economy and the environment. The event was organised in collaboration with Cabinet MAP, Institut de la propriété industrielle (INPI) de France, the Algerian-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI algéro-française) and Union des fabricants (UNIFAB, France).

On 25 October 2022, the Technical Working Group of the African Geographical Indications (GIs) Consultative Committee met virtually to prepare the discussion points for the Consultative Committee for the Continental Strategy on GIs in Africa, scheduled in November 2022.

On 25 October 2022, the CARIFORUM Intellectual Property and Innovation project met in Castries, Saint Lucia with the intellectual property (IP) offices of its Member States. The aim was to discuss present and future activities of the project and to continue promoting and boosting innovation and IP rights in the Caribbean region.
