Mentorship launch: Supporting the Valorisation of Sustainable Local Agri-food Products. AL-INVmentor – "Brazilian GI Coffee"

This initiative aims to elevate Origin Linked Products (OLPs) for coffee in Brazil, driving innovation and competitiveness, and fostering sustainability in this sector. The program will add value to local products by establishing sustainable production chains, connecting high-quality products with markets, and preserving cultural and regional heritage through IPRs.

The EUIPO Hosted International Conference on Geographical Indications

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), in collaboration with the European Commission, hosted the international conference ‘Safeguarding Our Heritage, Cultivating Our Future’ on 28-29 January 2025. This hybrid event, held in Alicante, Spain, and online, brought together a wide range of stakeholders, including policymakers, intellectual property (IP) experts, and producers, to discuss the important role of Geographical Indications (GIs) in driving innovation, economic growth, and cultural preservation.

The EUIPO meets with INPI Brazil regarding the Benchmarking and Diagnostic Exercise and Action Plan study

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) of Brazil held a virtual meeting on 29 January for a presentation on the ‘Benchmarking and Diagnostic Exercise and Action Plan’ study carried out in the framework of the EU-funded project AL-INVEST Verde IPR. In addition, the EUIPO’s new organisational structure as well as highlights from the EUIPOs new Strategic Plan SP2030 were presented.
