LAO PDR joins TMview and DesignView

We are pleased to announce that effective from the 7th of June 2019, the Department of Intellectual Property, Lao PDR has been fully integrated with TMView and DesignView.

With LAO DIP on board of TMview and DesignView, both tools now contain data from 69 participating offices.

With the addition of more than 46.000 trade marks from LAO DIP, TMview provides information and access to more than 53.3 million trade marks in total. DesignView contains more than 14,5 million designs, including 491 designs from LAO DIP.

Cambodia joins DesignView

As from 5 June 2019, Cambodia joins DesignView search tool. With Cambodia on board, DesignView, will now contain data from 68 participating offices.

With the addition of 693 designs from Cambodia MIH, DSview provides information and access to more than 14,5 million designs.

Since the introduction of DesignView, that went live on 19 November 2012, the tool has since then served almost 4,4 million searches from 169 different countries, with users from the UK, Germany and China among the most frequent users.

Integration of DesignView for Cambodia & Seminar on Industrial Designs

On 5 June 2019, the ARISE+ IPR team will be overseeing a high level event in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, that will mark the go-live date for the nation in their joining of DesignView. The half-day event will include presentations by the ARISE+ IPR team on the benefits of DesignView as well as the importance of Designs and different protection systems.

Naypyidaw, Myanmar

Meeting with Myanmar officials to discuss establishment of a national IP office

ARISE+ IPR is supporting the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) to hold a meeting with officials in Naypyidaw, Myanmar, on 11-12 June to discuss technical requirements for the establishment of a national IP office in the country. Topics to be covered include implementation plans and procedures, corporate governance, financial management, human resources, IT infrastructure, examination guidelines, and training, among other aspects.

The ARISE+ IPR team will be on hand at IP Fair 2019 in Bangkok on 30-31 May to provide advice on the Madrid System for the international registration of trademarks and demonstrate the IP tools databases, ASEAN TMView, ASEAN TMClass and ASEAN DesignView. These free online databases are the premier tools for conducting searches of trademarks, accepted goods and services for trademarks, and published and registered industrial designs, respectively, and are widely used by IP rightsholders and legal practitioners.
