Prosecutors from Ukraine, Moldova and Armenia participate in European IP Prosecutors Network workshop
The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) supported the participation of prosecutors from Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova and Armenia in a Workshop on Investigating and Prosecuting IP Crime which was organised back-to-back to the 13th EIPPN workshop, held at the EUIPO in Alicante on 10 and 11 September 2026.
The participation of prosecutors from Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova and Armenia were supported in the context of the EU-funded ‘EU4IP’ project, enabling representatives from partner countries to exchange with European counterparts on intellectual property (IP) crime legislation, jurisprudence and best practices.
The workshop, organised by the EUIPO and Eurojust, brought together prosecutors and IP enforcement practitioners from across Europe and enlargement and neighbourhood partners to discuss recent developments in the investigation and prosecution of IP crimes. The agenda included sessions on IP crime legislation, jurisprudence, online fraud cases and cooperation between enforcement authorities and the private sector, as well as networking opportunities aimed at strengthening professional exchange among practitioners.
As host of the European Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights, the EUIPO continues to support professional exchange and institutional cooperation in the field of IP enforcement. The EIPPN supports the exchange of knowledge and expertise to improve collective investigating and prosecuting capacity for cross-border IP rights violations, while fostering strategic cooperation among network members and providing a focus on online marketplaces.
The participation of prosecutors from Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova and Armenia provided an opportunity to connect with peers from the EU and Western Balkans, exchange practical experiences and gain insights into approaches applied across EU Member States.
The activity also contributed to reinforcing regional cooperation, strengthening judicial and enforcement networks across jurisdictions and supporting closer alignment with EU norms and standards in the field of IP enforcement.
