ASEAN IP Attachment Programme

This activity will run from June 2026 to January 2027 and establishes an ASEAN IP Attachment Programme. The programme is designed to strengthen the technical capabilities of officials from ASEAN IP offices through structured placements in other member state IP offices. Through immersive, hands-on exposure to different institutional environments, participants will deepen their practical skills while gaining insight into alternative administrative and operational approaches that can be adapted for use in their home offices.

Aligned with Strategic Measure 2 of the ASEAN IPR Action Plan 2026-2030, this initiative supports greater harmonisation and institutional development within ASEAN’s IP system. Programme placements may cover a range of areas, including IP examination, enforcement, mediation, adjudication, and office management, depending on the needs of participating offices and the expertise of host institutions. Developed in consultation with ASEAN IP offices and the ASEAN Secretariat, the programme may be piloted under the ASEAN IP Academy framework. It will contribute to deeper regional convergence and long-term cooperation in IP administration.
