EUIPO-led SCOPE IPR Project Steering Committee Endorses Annual Work Plan 3
The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) organised the 3rd Project Steering Committee (PSC) of the EU-ASEAN Sustainability Connectivity Package – Intellectual Property (IP) Rights, the EUIPO-led EU-funded SCOPE IPR project, on 9 April 2026 in Bali, Indonesia. During the meeting, the implementation of activities under the first Annual Work Plan (AWP1) that ran from 2024-2025 was reviewed, as well as those of AWP2 (2025-2026), and the new AWP3 (2026-2027) was endorsed, guiding the next phase of the project’s implementation.
The PSC comprises representatives from the EU Delegation to Thailand, ASEAN Member States’ IP Offices and the ASEAN Secretariat. Organised alongside the 78th Meeting of the ASEAN Working Group on Intellectual Property Cooperation (AWGIPC), the PSC meeting ensured close coordination between SCOPE IPR activities and ASEAN’s broader regional intellectual property agenda. During the meeting, the EUIPO presented the progress achieved under the project and outlined proposed priorities and technical cooperation activities for the upcoming work plan period.
In addition to endorsing AWP3, the PSC provided strategic guidance on strengthening coordination between the EUIPO, the ASEAN Secretariat, and ASEAN Member States’ IP offices, refining priorities for implementation, and ensuring synergies with dialogue partners active in the intellectual property field.
The EUIPO-implemented SCOPE IPR project aligns with the EU’s Global Gateway strategy, aiming to boost sustainable connectivity, digital transition, and economic integration to support regional cooperation and strengthen the IP framework across Southeast Asia.
