Support for legislative alignment with the EU acquis in Moldova: comparative legal analysis and drafting of amendments and regulations on designs

In line with the EU–Moldova Association Agreement, Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area commitments and Moldova’s EU accession roadmap, this activity will:

• Review and map the current Law No 161-XVI and implementing regulations against the new EU design package;
• Identify legal and procedural gaps and draft amendments and/or a new regulation on industrial designs (both in primary and secondary legislation);
• Facilitate technical meetings and conduct a stakeholder workshop to present findings and gather feedback;
• Prepare guidance materials for State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova (AGEPI) and industry to implement the updated rules.
• Support AGEPI and other competent authorities in developing internal procedures and staff capacities for implementing the amended framework.

The activity will be implemented in close coordination with AGEPI and relevant stakeholders.
