The EUIPO supports AGEPI’s 33rd anniversary with a Regional Conference on IP and Creative Industries
From 8-9 September 2025, the State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova (AGEPI) marked its 33rd anniversary by hosting a Regional Conference on Intellectual Property and Creative Industries in Chișinău. The event was organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and in the context of the EU-funded project Strengthening Intellectual Property Rights in Moldova and Ukraine (EU4IP).
The conference brought together policy makers, European IP offices, creators, and industry associations to discuss how intellectual property empowers the growth of creative industries and contributes to sustainable development. Topics included:
- • Global and regional trends in the creative economy;
- • National IP strategies aligned with cultural and innovation policies;
- • The role of IP offices as enablers of creativity and entrepreneurship;
- • Balanced copyright ecosystems and fair remuneration models;
- • AI and digital challenges for copyright and creative industries;
- • Education and youth empowerment in the creative sector.
The EUIPO contributed to the panel discussions with expertise from the Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights, sharing insights on copyright governance, enforcement, and the forthcoming Copyright Knowledge Centre. This contribution reaffirmed the EUIPO’s role as the premier implementing agency of EU-funded IP projects and its commitment to supporting innovation, culture and economic development in partner countries.
The EUIPO, through the EU4IP project, is strengthening collaboration between the Republic of Moldova, neighbouring countries and international organisations in advancing intellectual property as a driver of growth for creators, entrepreneurs and innovators.
