Study visit of UANIPIO to the EUIPO

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), through the EU-funded EU4IP project, hosted a delegation from the Ukrainian National Office for Intellectual Property and Innovations (UANIPIO) for a study visit from 5 to 7 November 2024. The objective of the study visit was to meet with selected EUIPO departments to identify cooperation synergies and to better understand the working processes of the EUIPO as a high-performing Intellectual Property (IP) office and how these processes could be replicated in the Ukrainian context.

The Ukrainian delegation was led by First Deputy Director Mr Bogdan Paduchak and Deputy Director Mr Vladyslav Bilotskyi and included six officials specialising in trade marks, designs, geographical indications, IP enforcement and communications. Participants from both offices actively engaged in discussing IP administration issues focusing on converging working practices in line with those of the European Union Intellectual Property Network (EUIPN).

This visit is a testament to the EUIPO's commitment to fostering closer ties and cooperation with EU candidate countries, such as Ukraine, and to lead strong IP alliances with like-minded IP organisations such as the UANIPIO, with a focus on aligning their IP systems with EU standards and practices.
