Creativity and IP in Georgian schools closing event

On 22 February 2023, the National Intellectual Property Center – Sakpatenti and the EUGIPP will hold a closing event with representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia where teachers and students will present the results of the ‘Creativity and IP in Georgian schools’ project and receive recognition for the work done.

Based on the success of the 2021 activity, Sakpatenti decided to continue the work with schools in 2022 and extend the scope of the programme to other schools. Therefore, in June 2022, principals and teachers from over 20 Georgian schools were invited to participate in a round table discussion on the future of ‘Creativity and IP in Georgian schools’.

Several other educational materials were translated into Georgian and made available at schools. Moreover, last November, teachers participated in a series of online training sessions provided by education experts and Sakpatenti representatives. The purpose was to train teachers on the translated materials and give them the tools to organise a series of lessons for students. These lessons took place in the last months of 2022 and allowed pupils to get familiar with the concepts and importance of IP in their daily lives.

The event will allow participants to exchange experiences and opinions, promote creativity and innovation in Georgian schools, and help raise awareness of the role of IP.
