Targeted capacity building on patents: development of examination guidelines, training on examination practices or study visit to EU Member States
Target Country: Armenia, Moldova, Ukraine
IPR area: Patents
Armenia, Moldova and Ukraine achieved different progress in terms of approximation with international and the European Patent Convention (EPC) best practices. Beyond the necessary legal framework to comply with EU acquis and the EPC, the ultimate purpose is to facilitate progress in the implementation of the Validation Agreement or examination practices, fostering cooperation with European patent standards and procedures and where relevant, in view of supporting the process of joining as a full member of the EPC.
This activity will enable examiners and users of the system from Armenia, Moldova and Ukraine to become more familiar with the European Patent Office examination and appeal processes and the Unified Patent Court proceedings, supporting the staff in developing their knowledge and skills and fostering alignment with European standards and procedures. Special focus may be given to the judicial application of patent cases in Europe.
