Support for legislative alignment with the EU acquis in Ukraine: implementation of amendments to the regulation on copyright and related rights

In line with the EU accession process and Ukraine’s commitment to legislative approximation, this activity will support the Ukrainian authorities in the implementation phase of the amendments to the Law on Copyright and Related Rights. It will:

• Assist Ukrainian National Office for Intellectual Property and Innovations (UANIPIO) and relevant authorities in implementing the draft amendments based on feedback from Ukrainian and EU relevant stakeholders;
• Ensure that the proposed amendments are fully consistent with the EU copyright acquis and address remaining gaps, including in collective management of copyright;
• Prepare supporting regulatory texts, implementation guidance and explanatory notes;
  Facilitate technical meetings and at least one national workshop to validate the final draft amendments and discuss implementation arrangements;
• Support UANIPIO and other competent authorities in developing internal procedures and staff capacities for implementing the amended framework.    

The activity will be implemented in close coordination with UANIPIO and relevant stakeholders.
