Target Country: Republic of Moldova
IPR area: Trade marks
In line with the EU–Moldova Association Agreement, Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area commitments and Moldova’s EU accession roadmap, this activity will support the finalisation and implementation of the trade mark regulation through:
- Finalising the draft implementing regulation on the procedure of filing, examination and registration of trade marks, incorporating stakeholder feedback and ensuring compatibility with EU standards;
- Conducting a workshop with State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova (AGEPI), legislators, practitioners and users to review the draft regulation, identify operational issues, and build awareness of new procedures;
- Preparing guidance materials for AGEPI staff, professional representatives and applicants to facilitate smooth transition to the new regulatory framework;
- Supporting AGEPI in establishing internal procedures and training to apply the new regulation, including pilot testing where appropriate;
Bringing together the European Union Intellectual Property Office and EU Member State IP offices expertise to share best practice in the processes of examination, renewal and opposition aligned with the EU acquis.
The activity will be implemented in close coordination with AGEPI and relevant stakeholders.
