Support for legislative alignment with the EU acquis in Moldova: finalisation and implementation of amendments to the regulation on copyright and related rights

In line with the EU–Moldova Association Agreement, Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area commitments and Moldova’s EU accession roadmap, this activity will:

• Finalise the review and consolidation of the draft amendments to Law No 230/2022 on Copyright and Related Rights in close cooperation with State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova (AGEPI) and the Ministry of Culture;
• Ensure that the proposed amendments are fully consistent with the EU copyright acquis and address remaining gaps in collective management, exceptions and limitations, digital uses, orphan works and enforcement mechanisms;
• Prepare supporting regulatory texts, implementation guidance and explanatory notes;
• Facilitate technical meetings and at least one national workshop to validate the final draft amendments and discuss implementation arrangements;
• Support AGEPI and other competent authorities in developing internal procedures and staff capacities for implementing the amended framework.

The activity will be implemented in close coordination with AGEPI and relevant stakeholders.
