Support to carry out a quality review with the EU acquis in Moldova: comparative legal analysis and drafting of amendments and regulations on geographical indications

This activity will aim at assessing the Moldovan legal framework by conduct a quality review of the detailed legal analysis of Law No 66-XVI/2008 and related regulations against the European Union Geographical Indications acquis, identifying areas of alignment and divergence. An identification of necessary legislative amendments will be carried out and the specific legal provisions requiring amendment will be pinpointed, as well as proposals for introduction of new amendments to achieve full harmonisation with EU standards where needed.

The activity will also provide technical review and recommendations on drafted amendments, ensuring legal clarity, enforceability, and compliance with EU and international best practices.
