Strengthening investigation and prosecution of IP crimes through exchange of experience among practitioners: participation in the European Intellectual Property Prosecutors Network (EIPPN) workshop
Target Country: Armenia, Moldova, Ukraine
IPR area: Enforcement
Cross‑country cooperation in IP crime investigation and prosecution is vital for addressing the increasingly global and digital nature of intellectual property infringement. The European Intellectual Property Prosecutors Network (EIPPN), organised by EUIPO, Eurojust and World Intellectual Property Organisation, brings together prosecutors, judges, IP offices and enforcement agencies to exchange best practices, analyse trends, and strengthen joint capacity in tackling IP crime.
In 2024, the EIPPN workshop took place in Geneva (12‑13 September) with participation of Moldova and Ukraine (and also Georgia) under the EU4IP project, enabling delegates to access latest global experiences in IP crime prosecution. In 2025, the EIPPN workshop took place with a related event in Alicante (10‑12 September) with prosecutors and investigators from the Western Balkans, Moldova and Ukraine, focusing on IP crime, organised crime links and digital value chains.
Participation by Armenia, Moldova and Ukraine in the 2026 edition will strengthen national capacity, build judicial and enforcement networks across jurisdictions, and boost alignment with EU norms and standards in IP enforcement. The EIPPN supports sharing of knowledge and expertise to improve collective investigating and prosecuting capacity for cross‑border IPR violations. It fosters strategic cooperation among members of the network and provides a particular focus on online marketplaces, ensuring effective and transparent enforcement practices.
