Ad hoc support at Ukraine’s leading IP and innovation forum
The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) co-organised and participated in the fourth National Forum on Intellectual Property and Innovation – IP LET Forum 2025. The event titled ‘Intellectual Property: Law, Economy, Technology’ took place on 27 November in Kyiv, Ukraine.
João Negrão, Executive Director of the EUIPO, delivered a video address at the opening session, reaffirming the EUIPO’s commitment to supporting Ukraine’s innovation system and IP environment.
In the context of the EU-funded EU4IP project, the EUIPO provided expertise across all four of the Forum’s thematic areas:
- Ukraine’s position in the global IP market – focusing on international partnerships, European integration and the digital transformation of IP services;
- Future technologies and IP – addressing AI, defence technologies and the development of a Ukrainian AI language model;
- Business, IP and innovation – highlighting IP as a competitive advantage for SMEs and veteran-owned businesses, as well as a driver of market expansion;
- IP in the creative industries – exploring copyright, geographical indications for folk crafts and protecting Ukrainian cultural and creative works.
