Study on the role and involvement of women in the community-based industries related to IPR in ASEAN
ARISE+ IPR carried out a study on the role and involvement of women in community-based industries related to IPR in the ASEAN under the Annual Work Plan 3-2020. The content includes a comparative analysis of key community-based and women-led industries across the ASEAN, a discussion on women’s relationships with the IP landscape in the region and a showcase of products from relevant sectors.
The study aims to raise awareness of the gender aspect of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and creative sectors and promote the benefits that IPR protection provides to community-based industries led by women. It also contributes to many of the United Nations Development Programme’s sustainable development goals, namely quality education; gender equality; decent work and economic growth; industry, innovation, and infrastructure; and sustainable cities and communities.
