AWGIPC briefed on status of ARISE+ IPR studies
The ARISE+ IPR management team held a consultation session with heads of the ASEAN IP offices at the 57th Meeting of the ASEAN Working Group on Intellectual Property Cooperation (AWGIPC) on 27 November in Siem Reap, Cambodia. They discussed ARISE+ IPR activities from the first-year annual work plan, including a briefing on the progress of feasibility studies for an ASEAN IP academy and an ASEAN trademark registration system, both of which are in the ASEAN IPR Action Plan 2016-2025. The ARISE+ IPR team also discussed potential activities for the second-year work plan.
Established in 1996, the AWGIPC is composed of representatives from each of the ASEAN IP offices and is the sectoral group responsible for IP issues in the region. Its work is based on the ASEAN IPR Action Plan 2016-2025.
