AL-INVEST Verde IPR Closing Event Day 2: Past and Future – Innovation, Sustainability and Intellectual Property
The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), in collaboration with the Escola Paulista da Magistratura, is organising the final event of the AL-INVEST Verde IPR project, funded by the European Union.
Objectives
• To strengthen the institutional and practical capacities of intellectual property rights operators in Latin America.
• To promote dialogue between magistrates, public authorities and the private sector on current challenges in intellectual property protection, including the impact of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
• To present the results of the AL-INVEST Verde IPR project's Network of Judges, in particular the Compendium of Intellectual Property Case Law.
• Consolidate regional legal cooperation links beyond the formal conclusion of the project.
The morning part of the event, aimed at magistrates and law enforcement authorities in Latin America, includes panels to discuss regional cooperation in the enforcement of intellectual property rights, as well as new challenges such as the use of artificial intelligence in the judicial context and its impact on intellectual property systems. The afternoon session is dedicated exclusively to judges, with a special focus on the presentation of the compendium of case law.
The target audience includes prosecutors, public defenders, lawyers, students, and other interested parties.
