Practical Workshop on Mediation

Challenges in IPR Enforcement in Physical and Online Marketplaces

Scheduled for implementation between November and December 2025, this regional meeting brings together IP and enforcement officials, as well as private sector stakeholders, to explore the growing challenges in enforcing intellectual property rights in both physical and online marketplaces. As e-commerce and social media platforms increasingly become conduits for counterfeit trade, the activity will examine current enforcement gaps and propose practical mechanisms to reduce IPR infringement.

Running from June 2025 to April 2026, this activity offers flexible, expert-led technical assistance to ASEAN Member States in response to specific national needs related to the protection and enforcement of geographical indications (GIs). It supports requests that do not require a dedicated standalone activity but are important to sustaining long-term convergence and harmonisation of GI practices across the region.
