Ad hoc support for the copyright experts from Moldova and Ukraine to participate in the conference on copyright in Alicante

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), in cooperation with the European Commission, hosted a two-day high-level conference on copyright from 20-21 November 2025 at its headquarters in Alicante. The event brought together EU institutions, policymakers, national intellectual property (IP) offices, copyright experts and representatives from the cultural and creative sectors to celebrate copyright in the European Union and reflect on the latest policy challenges in the field.

Ad hoc support for a conference on creative industries in Moldova

From 8-9 September 2025, the State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova (AGEPI) marked its 33rd anniversary by hosting a Regional Conference on Intellectual Property and Creative Industries in Chișinău. The event was organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and in the context of the EU-funded project Strengthening Intellectual Property Rights in Moldova and Ukraine (EU4IP).

Strengthening IP enforcement through Team Europe: EUIPO organises a study visit for Moldovan and Ukrainian customs

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), in the framework of the EU-funded EU4IP project, organised a study visit to Croatia from 30 September to 2 October 2025 for customs officials from the Republic of Moldova, and Ukraine. The visit aimed to strengthen cross-border cooperation and alignment with EU standards in the enforcement of intellectual property (IP).

Ad hoc support to Moldova for the 9th edition of the Youth Intellectual Property Contest

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), as part of the EU-funded EU4IP project, supported the organisation of the 9th edition of the Youth Intellectual Property Contest in the Republic of Moldova. The initiative was led by the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova, the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks of Romania and the Romanian Copyright Office, on the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day 2025.

Ad hoc support to Ukraine in accessing the Pan European Seal Mundus Programme

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with three leading Ukrainian universities, officially integrating them into the Pan-European Seal (PES) programme. This joint milestone was possible thanks to support from the Ukrainian National Office for Intellectual Property and Innovations (UANIPIO), which actively promotes international opportunities for Ukrainian students and professionals, ensuring that future intellectual property (IP) experts benefit from EU and global best practices and advanced training.

Ad hoc support to Ukraine with mock sessions for the bilateral screening on enlargement negotiations

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), through the EU-funded EU4IP project, provided targeted support to Ukrainian authorities in preparation for accession negotiations related to Chapter 7 of the EU acquis on Intellectual Property Law

This support included two mock negotiation sessions conducted on 25–26 September 2024 and 21–22 November 2024, simulating bilateral screening discussions between Ukraine and the European Commission (EC). These sessions aimed to prepare Ukrainian officials for negotiations planned for December 2024.

The EUIPO strengthens prosecutorial enforcement cooperation between Moldova, Ukraine and EU Member States

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) hosted a three-day series of enforcement-focused meetings at its premises in Alicante, Spain, from 10 to 12 September 2025. In cooperation with Eurojust under the EUIPO´s IP Alliance on capacity building coordination, these included an exchange of experiences with Western Balkans and EU judicial and law enforcement authorities on intellectual property (IP) crimes and the 12th edition of the European Intellectual Property Prosecutors Network (EIPPN) meeting.
