Chile hosted an event that captured the essence of innovation and the protection of crafts through intellectual property (IP). The international seminar, Adding Value to Handicrafts and Local Products Through Intellectual Property Rights, organised with Chile’s National Institute of Industrial Property (INAPI), took place on 28 and 29 November 2023.
On 1 December, AL-INVEST Verde DPI is organising a workshop aimed at exploring the intersection between research, development, and the wine industry, using intellectual property rights (IPR) as a tool to support the fight against climate change through sustainable innovation.
Driving innovation and sustainable competitiveness through intellectual property
In an effort to foster cooperation and harmonisation in the field of intellectual property (IP), trade mark examiners from MERCOSUR and Chile came together to participate in specialised training on three-dimensional trade marks.
The event, ‘Training on the Practice of Trade Mark Examination: 3D Trade Marks’, was held online and was attended by prominent representatives of the IP offices of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
On 12 December 2023, the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants and the Community Plant Variety Office will host an online workshop about the licensing of plant varieties.
Yesterday, an important virtual meeting was held, which was jointly organised by the EUIPO and the EPO. The meeting focused on how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be used in patent examination. EPO expert Alexander Klenner-Bajaja provided valuable insights as to how AI can revolutionise this field.
Chile will soon host an event on crafts and intellectual property (IP) rights.
