AL-INVEST PI
The conference is being organised by the CARIFORUM Intellectual Property Rights and Innovation Project (CarIPI), in collaboration with the Academy for Law of the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) and the Jamaican Intellectual Property Office (JIPO). The activity is part of an AL-INVEST Verde IPR initiative to develop a compendium of case-law on trade mark law.
The AL-INVEST Verde IPR Mentorship Programme (ALINVmentor I) is the first of its kind in a series of mentoring programmes to enhance the use and development of intellectual property rights (IPRs), especially geographical indications (GIs) and trade marks. These IPRs are integral to driving innovation, competitiveness, and sustainability.
AL-INVEST Verde IPR activities include events such as seminars, lectures, courses etc. Also, various types of studies are carried out and reports are produced. Below is an overview of the ongoing and planned studies.
On December 12, 2023, international leaders and experts from public institutions together with small and medium-sized enterprises gathered for the online event ‘Virtual Workshop on Plant Variety Licensing’, organised in collaboration with the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV) and the Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO).
