AL-INVEST PI
AL-INVEST Verde IPR, in collaboration with the Bioeconomy Secretariat of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Argentina, will organise a virtual event to mark the opening of the call for interest for the first edition of the AL-INVEST Verde IPR mentorship programme, AL-INVmentor, in Argentina.
AL-INVEST Verde IPR and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) will participate in the Regional Seminar on Intellectual Property for Latin American Judges, organised by the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO), the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (OEPM) and the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development (AECID), in collaboration with the Spanish General Council of the Judiciary (CGJP).
On 29 May 2024, the ‘AL-INVEST Verde IPR Protection Network’ met online to discuss notorious trade marks based on presentations of European and Latin American cases, as well as the progress of a compendium on intellectual property (IP) case-law. The network meets regularly to foster dialogue, share expertise and analyse recent cases to equip participating judges and magistrates from the MERCOSUR countries and Chile with the necessary tools to address the complexities of IP protection and to strengthen and harmonise legal frameworks.
Forum on Digital Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights: Navigating the Future of Creative Industries in MERCOSUR countries and Chile – this hybrid forum was organised on 8 April 2024 to establish dialogue between the EU and Latin American countries on the complex challenges and benefits of emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence.
AL-INVmentor is the novel mentorship programme of AL-INVEST Verde IPR. The first phase of the first edition of the programme includes six mentorships in the MERCOSUR countries and includes selecting the mentees, followed by subsequent phases that include fieldwork and workshop series aimed at helping the producers with their internationalisation strategies to support their transition towards a low-carbon, resource-efficient and more circular economy in line with the European Green Deal.
EUIPO has published a Call for Expression of Interest to compile a list of vendors interested in providing independent and specialised expertise on IP rights.
