Study launch: Support to the modernisation of Guidelines in MERCOSUR countries – Paraguay

Objective: provide support in drafting the first "Ex-Novo" guidelines for examination of trade marks in Paraguay. These guidelines will enhance the accessibility, transparency and predictability of the examination practice of trade marks in Paraguay. Any changes will be made according to Paraguayan law, using published legal documents as a main reference. This initiative is part of a wider scope to support the approximation of practices between the EU and MERCOSUR countries.

Objective: to provide assistance in updating the Uruguayan guidelines on trade mark examination. This will make them more user-friendly, clear, and predictable. Any changes will be made with Uruguayan trade mark law in mind, using published legal documents as a main reference. This initiative is part of a wider scope to support the approximation of practices between the EU and MERCOSUR countries.

Study launch: Process optimisation of IP Offices – Brazil

Benchmarking and Diagnostic exercise and Action Plan – BRAZIL

Objective: to benchmark the practices for quality management and produce an action plan that is in line with the Strategic Plan of the Brazilian IP Institute (INPI). Both are aimed at strengthening INPI’s efficiency by promoting cooperation and an exchange of best practices with EU IP Offices. These exchanges will focus on various indicators, data-driven decision-making and user communication.

Mentorship programme AL-INVmentor launched in Argentina

On 11 June the launch of the AL-INVEST Verde IPR mentoring programme ‘AL-INVmentor Argentina’ took place in Buenos Aires, organised with the Secretariat of Bioeconomy of the Ministry of Economy of Argentina.

The event marked the official opening of the call for proposals for local agri-food producers to sign up to receive free mentoring in registering or effectively usinggeographical indications (GIs). Registrations can be received until 30 June via the below link to the registration form.
