The IP Key SEA and ARISE+ IPR teams and experts were present at IP Fair 2018 at BITEC in Bangkok on 6-8 July providing hands-on training on IT tools (ASEAN TMview, ASEAN Designview, GI Database and ASEAN TMclass). Information and expertise on intellectual property (IP) was also shared with participants during the exhibition from a dedicated booth.

Further to the success of former edition, ARISE+ IPR will support the Creative ASEAN Furniture Design Contest 2018. The national phase will completed with the selection of five finalists per country. One winner per country will be selected by the Regional Jury in August 2018 and the winning designs will be exhibited at the STYLE Bangkok Furniture Fair 2018, taking place on 17-21 October, 2018, Bangkok, Thailand.

ARISE+ IPR supported the participation of the 6 GI Associations from Cambodia, Lao PDR and Myanmar in the third edition of the one-week training on GIs in Kampot, Cambodia. Following the two successful AsiaGI training, this edition was also organized by CIRAD and REDD for a week in which the experts combined theoretical presentations, role play and practical field visits, counting with a total of 24 participants from Asia (mainly ASEAN countries)

ARISE+ IPR supported the organization of the 2nd ASEAN Network of IPR Enforcement Experts (ANIEE) Meeting held in Manila (Philippines) on 25 April 2018.  The ANIEE consists of representatives from various SE Asia and international IP offices and is tasked by the ASEAN Working Group on Intellectual Property Cooperation (AWGIPC) to undertake the implementation of the IPR enforcement initiatives under the ASEAN IPR Action Plan 2016-2025.

Opened by EU Delegation Ambassador to the Philippines Franz Jessen and Deputy Director General Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) Atty. Teodoro C.

The 1st Sub-Project Steering Committee (PSC) meeting in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam on 30 March 2018, served as the official launching event and starting point of the ARISE+ IPR project. The meeting, celebrated back-to-back with the 55th Meeting of the AWGIPC, was organized with the purpose to discuss and the first Annual Work Plan (AWP1) which 23 activities were formally approved and adopted by all AMSs. 

Local producers and association, intellectual property (IP) and agriculture officials, and IP practitioners from 12 countries gathered in Kampot, Cambodia on 14-18 May 2018 for a training on geographical indications (GIs).
