The winners of the Creative ASEAN Furniture Design Contest will participate in an internship programme with acclaimed designer Kenneth Cobonpue in Cebu City, Philippines, on 7-8 February. Organised by ARISE+ IPR, the internship provides an opportunity for the winners to hone their skills and learn the techniques of a world-renowned designer and gain a better appreciation of the importance of protecting their designs. 

The ARISE+ IPR team organised parallel consultation meetings on trademarks, industrial designs and information technology in Bangkok on 18-20 February with representatives from the ASEAN national IP offices and the ASEAN Secretariat. The initiatives discussed in the consultation meetings are in line with the ASEAN IPR Action Plan 2016-2025.

As of 23 January 2019 the Brunei Intellectual Property Office (BruIPO) has made its trade mark and design data available to the TMview and DesignView search tools.

With BruIPO on board TMview and DesignView now contain data from 68 participating offices.

The ARISE+ IPR “Seminar on Protecting Brands, Inventions and Designs Overseas” for Myanmar IP officials and SME representatives was held in Mandalay on 11 December following the success of a similar seminar in Yangon in November.
